Utilizing the many safety and security technologies that it has developed to service customers in high risk industry, in 2005, MBI designed, engineered, manufactured and patented a prototype concept called “Hidden Fortress”. Marketed by Home and Security Technologies, Hidden Fortress provides an alternative to typical fall-out shelters, storm shelters, or panic rooms that are rarely if ever used. Hidden Fortress is designed and engineered to be integrated into a fully functional room within your home or office, preventing the waste of valuable square footage.
Offsite Construction, Reduced Time Schedules
We build the Hidden Fortress at our manufacturing facilities and deliver it to the site –
installation can typically be done in less than one day, preventing any delays in the home construction process. Hidden Fortress has been designed to be accommodating to builders, architects and consumers alike. It is designed so that once installed, standard building processes will not be affected. The only alterations are to the footing, foundation, and architectural drawings, allowing use of the proprietary anchoring system.
Certified Protection
Hidden Fortress is typically engineered with a class 5 storm rating, fire resistance, forced entry protection, and live-load structural support. Each Hidden Fortress is accompanied by a packet of stamped engineering documentation, including calculations and certifications.
Sealed in Safety
When the foundation is complete, the manufactured Hidden Fortress will be delivered, set into place and mechanically fastened to the anchoring system. At this point the Hidden Fortress is a seamless enclosure that can be equipped with its own back-up water supply, Heating Ventilation and Air Condition(HVAC), and a power system designed to automatically turn on the moment main power is lost.
